As you all know, we love protein pancakes at The Urban Kitchen, both sweet and savoury. We're always thinking up new options and flavours. But our first love will also be chocolate pancakes! These pancakes are packed with protein and will help curb your sweet chocolate cravings.
INGREDIENTS - Makes 20 pancakes
per pancake: 51 kcal, 5g protein, 1g fat, 6g carbs
100g bench pressed oats - chocolate
250g cottage cheese (2.2g fat)
200g Quark
5 (150g) egg whites – (10 tbsp of Two Chicks egg whites from carton)
1 (50g) egg
50ml semi-skimmed milk
20g Green and Black's cocoa powder
4 tsp (20g) agave nectar
METHOD
Combine the ingredients together in a bowl and mix with the stick blender.
Heat a non-stick pan and brush lightly with oil of your choice.
When hot, carefully spoon 4 large tablespoons of the batter to make pancakes approx. 7cm – i.e. diameter of a glass.
When the edges start to roll up and bubbles appear, flip the pancakes.
Allow to cook for another minute or 90 seconds.
Serve hot with 1 cup of berries or some protein ice-cream such as Whey Hey.
